  • Historic rain for Colorado

The pictures are incredible.  After historic rainfall flooded parts of Colorado and Kansas this week, more rain is in the forecast this weekend.

Look at how much rain they received in just 48 hours!

Almost a year’s worth of rain!

Many creeks and streams are at or above flood stage so any more wet weather is not welcome news, however drier conditions will be helpful this week.

Meanwhile, tropical storm Ingrid is strengthening in the Bay of Campeche.

Ingrid is forecast to become a hurricane and make landfall along mexico’s coast overnight Sunday bringing flooding rain to this region.

Some rain will move into Texas, but Ingrid will not be a threat to the U.S.  Parts of Mexico will get over a foot of rain which will certainly be a problem in terms of flooding.

In other news, the Northeast is dry and cool today.  A little warmer tomorrow, but expect the cooler trend to continue into the new workweek.

Much of the Midwest is dry with exception of the Dakotas, Minnesota and parts of Iowa where showers and thunderstorms are possible.  And the sunny warm weather continues for the Northwest region.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

I think you should show 3D google type maps including the topography for the areas affected by the recent flooding in Colorado and New Mexico. This would mean carefully selecting the viewpoint angle. I have been to both the places before, and even I don't understand the scale of the flooding, just from my memory. People who have never been there, because I don't remember the details.

Just got home from our 55th class reunion. A good time was had by all and we spent most of the time just visiting. We decided that since most of us will be 75 years old in 2015, we will have another reunion then. Our diamond anniversary & birthday reunion! We are starting to get a little grayer though! good for you on running off the grouch! Take a bow!

I'm back. Just want to send the nasty post a little further down. Dan, I saw your comment--thank you! I'm very protective of people I care about and that includes my blogging friends. Some people are just plain ignorant. Thankfully, we don't get too many of them on this blog. Take care, my friend. Margie

Hey to all the regular bloggers out there. I see we got a whiner on the blog today. Just wanted to post something so the nastiness isn't the first thing you see. I hope all the regular bloggers are having a great weekend. Let's hope the nasty one gets lost. Take care, all. Margie

Checking in to say Hi to all . Muggy and overcast all this week here on the coast with a few light showers. Just enough to keep me from finishing painting the house. Our rainfall is actually 7" below normal at 32" YTD. Quinault, 35 miles north of us has 78' so they need another 40' before 12/31 to get to normal. My garden did great this year but as usual our tomatoes aren't ripening. A bear with her two cubs wandered across the area between my house and the river yesterday. Fun!
