  • Halloween snow?

    Good morning all!

The big story this week will be the winter storm ramping up over the Northern Rockies.

Some areas will see close to two feet of snow while an arctic cold front will blast extremely cold air.

As the storm moves east, the chance for strong to severe storms will increase across the central U.S.

As for the rest of the country, lingering lake effect rain/snow will continue for the eastern Great Lakes, but nothing signficant.   Temperatures will begin to moderate through the week with the possibility for rain late in the week.

Showers and thunderstorms will pop up again this afternoon from Texas through the lower Mississippi Valley.  Some storms could reach severe limits with the possibility for heavy rain.  Temperatures are beginning to warm up over the south.

That’s the latest in this week’s weather news.    It’s hard to believe it was a year ago  Hurricane Sandy made landfall and destroyed so many people’s homes and livelihoods.  The landscape of the Jersey Shore has changed forever.   The one thing I can say is the forecast was very accurate with Hurricane Sandy.   We knew several days in advance that the storm could be a worst case scenario.   We may not be able to control the weather, but we can certainly prepare for it.  My prayers to all those who are still recovering and rebuilding from Hurricane Sandy.   An anniversary many across the Northeast will remember for decades to come.

Gordy, get lost! Hey to all the regular bloggers out there. Dan, it's good to see you back on the blog. I was just thinking that I haven't seen you for a while. At least I don't think you've posted for a while. This last month's been a blur. We had a great time at Ruby Tuesday yesterday. We had a total of 9 & Stacy took good care of us. Today was the last day at my parents' cottage. We turned in the keys today. It was sad. I'm back home now. I'm exhausted, both physically & emotionally. I hope all the regular bloggers have a great week. Hopefully we won’t get any more jerks posting. Margie

Sonoma Dan

Hi to all the regulars and hope you're doing well! It's foggy, very windy and cold in "beautiful" Sonoma County today. Yesterday I had the air conditioning on and today I have the furnace running! Also have a huge pot of beef stew cooking that makes the house smell incredible! Margie, the tribute to your mother at Ruby Tuesday's sounds wonderful. Hope that you enjoyed and that you were able to finish getting the cottage cleaned out. Sam, so happy that you're through your cancer treatments.
