  • Operation Shoebox Millionth Package!

    Hi everyone!

I’m in Florida today packing the One Millionth Package for Operation Shoebox!  What an amazing organization that started 10 years ago in Mary Harper’s living room.    Here’s the interview I did this morning with Fox and Friends:

You can donate too!  Especially as we remember our troops this Veterans Day:

Hope you’re all having a great day.

Just wanted to add that we have one of the coldest mornings of the season so far at 27 degrees--brrrr!!!! At least my car isn't all frosty. Stay warm everyone! Margie

Hey AJ! Can you send some of that warmth to the east coast???? It's going to be a cold night but at least the wind died down. It was cold out when I got off work a little while ago but without the wind blowing, it didn't feel too bad. It is supposed to warm up for the weekend though so I'm looking forward to that. Hey to all the regular bloggers out there. Hope everyone is having a good day. Take care, all. Margie

Good morning to all the regular bloggers. It's a bright sunny day here in Cumberland. It's still windy with wind chill in the teens--brrrrr! I was nice and toasty warm in the new flannel pajamas I bought. I'm not looking forward to going outside when I go to work this afternoon. Hopefully it will a little warmer by then. I hope all the regular bloggers have a great day! Margie

Good grief, Janice de-spammed the blog but it didn't take long for the morons to return. There are too many jerks in the world. Hey Gwen, it sounds cold down your way! We have temps in the low 30's with wind chills in the low 20's--brrrrrr! I hope everyone is safe and warm wherever you are. Take care, everyone. Margie

Afternoon, guys! Hope all are doing well today. Very chilly day in MySouth...mid 40s with winds of 20 mph. Very unusual for us. Should be in mid 20s tonight. Will have to bundle up and stay warm, for sure. Hubby and I are actually camping at the lake for probably the last time this year. Will then be February or March before we start again. It'll be cold, but our camper has a good heater. Just hope our water doesn't freeze. Stay tuned...will let you know. Catch y'all later. Gwen :)

Hey folks, I hope Janice checks in soon to clear out the spam posts. The jerks have come out in force. Just wanted to mention that if you like my photos and want to own some, I have my 2014 calendars available. These are always popular with my friends. I posted the photos & link on my web site so if you're interested, you can check it out at throughmylens-margie dot BlogSpot dot com (all the details are there). I hope all the regular bloggers have a great afternoon. Margie

My son in law is still with us and showing a few good signs. His blood pressure was 60/40 once they get that up to stay they will do a ct scan to see where he has the infection. Been a rough week but prayers will help. We just sorry we are 1200 miles away but the daughters and grand children keep us up to date. My husband has Parkinson's so will stay in Florida for now. Thanks everyone for you prayers. You are a GREAT family all of you.

Hey, JD. Great job! Glad to see you and Fox participating in Operation Shoebox. Hope all are having a great Veterans' Day. Remember to thank a Vet today. I've already hugged my two. TTFN! Gwen :)

Ardith, I got so sidetracked before that I neglected to say that I'm sorry to hear about your son-in-law. I will be keeping all of you in my prayers. Dan, that's funny! Maybe I should call myself the Enforcer! I had checked the blog earlier in the morning before the whiners posted their comments. I just like to have a friendly place here and I don't like it when outsiders intrude with nastiness or criticism. We're a happy family here and I want to keep it that way. Margie

Hi to all the regulars and my sincere thanks to all of our service men and women this Veteran's Day and everyday. Ardith, I'm so sorry to learn of your son-in-law and will remember you and your family in my prayers. Margie, when I was first on the site this morning the only comments were from Kay and Charles. My first thought was "Margie's not going to like this!" JD, thanks for using your celebrity to promote the great work of Operation Shoebox! I'd not heard of them before. Dan

Ardith, so sorry to hear about your son in law. You and your family are in my prayers. I agree with Margie that JD and Fox are doing a great service for Operation Shoebox. They stated(If someone actually watched the clip) that they would show the one millionth box going out. I have worked on many non-profit projects and getting notice is always greatly appreciated. Funny, I didn't see anything from the other networks about this great charity's historic feat. Hope all are well, JB

Kay & Charles, every time you decide to blog on a site and get snarky, thank a Vet. My dad was in the AEF in the 1917 invasion of France, a BIL as tail gunner in B-24 over Italy, a brother driving a landing craft up on Guadacanal, a FIL in the SeaBees building the airstrips in the Mariana, Saipan, and Tarawa. Another brother in the AF in Korea and I spent 2 tours in VietNam. So go find a site like GrateWire and snark away. People here are family.

And thanks to all the Veterans out there! You are very much appreciated! Margie

Hey Ardith, I'm here! Kay & Charles, find another blog to complain on. We don't like complainers around here. Janice has no control over the graphics on Fox and she is doing a wonderful service to Operation Shoebox by publicizing it. So get a life! Hey to all the regular bloggers out there. It seems like we have more outsiders than blogging family lately and most of those outsiders are whining about something! If you're a friend of the blog, please post something nice for us. Thanks! Margie

Kay & Charles shame on you. At least she doing something for our Veterans, what have you done today. I'm sitting here wait for a call that my son in law has passed away. Hope your live is better than mine. Maybe you need to get a life. Margie where are you when we need you to talk to these crazy people.
