  • Another winter storm with FREEZING cold temps!

Incase you haven’t heard (HA!)  We have ANOTHER winter storm hitting the Northeast/Midatlantic area today.  I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day!

    Let’s get to it!

An area of low pressure will move off the East Coast today, spreading heavy snowfall from the coastal Mid-Atlantic through the Northeast coast and New England.  Here’s a look at the snowfall map:

As expected, Winter Storm Warnings are in effect from D.C. to Boston.

Blizzard warnings are also up for coastal southeastern Massachusetts as blowing slow will drop visibilities to near zero!  Brrrrrrrrrr!   The heaviest snow will fall later this afternoon and evening through roughly Midnight, before tapering off Wednesday morning.

Here are your updated snow totals:

Behind this snowfall, even more frigid air will move into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.  Highs in the 10s/20s with lows in the single-digits or colder will be widespread, with even lower wind chill values.

And,  if that weren’t enought, a reinforcing shot of arctic air will move into the Midwest and Great Lakes Thursday and then spread eastward.  Wind Chill Warnings and Advisories are in effect across the Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast through Friday…

Whew!  I’ll be working until Megyn’s show tonight, and if you stay through her show, you’ll catch me making a snow angel!  :)   I gotta at least have a little fun!

    Be safe and warm everyone!

    JD

I remember how much I loved winters when I lived in Chicago, my hometown. I was one of the few who did! As a boy growing up in Berwyn, I loved going sledding on the Seven Hills in neighboring Riverside, where my Dad grew up, about two blocks from the Seven Hills. As an adult, I lived in Old Town, across from beautiful Lincoln Park, which always looked terrific after a fresh snowfall. "Those were the days, my friend. I thought they'd never end."

All of Florida is not sunny and warm! We live in north florida! The coldest i have seen was 1984, when it got down to 8 degrees! Just remember, Florida is a state during the winter weather too! Its not all about the northeast part of america!Just include florida's cold temperatures too! Thank you very much!

Good morning to all the regular bloggers. It's another cold morning at about 5 degrees with wind chills in the negative numbers. At least it's not as windy as it was yesterday. It's back to work today after a couple days off because of the weather. I hope all my regular blogging friends have a great day! Margie

Hi J.D. and blogger friends: Caught you, J.D. making a real pose on The Kelly File last night. You looked great making that snow angel. Although I noticed you did not linger too long in the snow. Apparently you got cold and wet as well. What I like about you? You are game for just about anything, and you make your job also fun while doing it. Hope your boys are enjoying the snow. Have a good evening all. Watch some college basketball! We are. Audrey

46 and misting this morning. Our heating oil company went bankrupt so I need to find a new supplier and there is only one available. I guess he is elected! Take it easy, stay safe. Janice, you make a beautiful snow angel.

Good morning all my blogging friends! It's a cold one--3 degrees! Wind chills are in the minus teens--brrrr! The college is closed again today so thankfully I don't have to go anywhere. At least I don't have to go out with my rental car in this weather. Although, it's a really nice car & I'd like to drive it somewhere! Stay safe and warm wherever you are! Margie

JD, I just saw you doing the weather segment on Megyn's show in your "Nanook of the North" outfit. I hope after reporting you got inside quickly and had some hot chocolate, coffer or possibly a wee bit of brandy. A little cooler here but nowhere near the extremes like some are facing. May all in the storm's path be safe and warm. JB
