  • Round two done - will there be a round three?

    Hi everyone

It’s been a busy last few days.   And it looks like the rest of the month has the possiblity for more storms ahead.  UGH!

The last system  that dumped over a foot of snow across the Midwest to the Northeast is now almost done, but with widespread temperatures below freezing tonight through the rest of the week, the snow won’t go anywhere, and any rain on the pavement/sidewalk/power lines and trees will freeze overnight bringing its own set of difficulties.

Meanwhile, a new system across the West is going to bring some much needed moisture and snow to a drought striken region.

Part of the energy from this storm will make its way across the the country over the next few days and possibly bring us our next snow-maker over the northeast this weekend.   However, computer models don’t quite know how to handle this scenario, and so we’ll have to continue to monitor the system and keep you posted!

And another round of very cold arctic air will invade the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest over the next few days bringing more dangerous windchills.

I’m going to be off the next few days.  My little Theodore is going to be celebrating his third birthday this weekend!  We’re planning a little party, and I for one, am hoping for a dry weekend!

    Be safe everyone!

A nice evening here, 33 and mostly clear. It's snowing south of us down towards Portland OR but nothing here. I spent the evening so far doing mine and my daughter's income taxes. She gets a refund, I owe a few bucks. I tweak withholding every year but in 2013 I cut it 1/2 of 1% too much. I love working with numbers almost as much as I enjoy making scroll work projects. Time for a movie, have a good one. Be safe. Sam

Big Hello to all my friendly and regular bloggers. Been gone, but still alive and well. Finally getting the weather that I love here in TX. Staying in the 30's all day and low 20's in the morning. It's fun seeing these drivers that don't know how to drive in these conditions. Passing me so fast, only to catch up with them when they have spun out of control and into the ditch. Hoping the best of health to all. Happy Birthday, Theodore. BG.

Hey Sam! I see your posts have been liberated from the abyss! This blog is crazy sometimes. I saw this morning that there should have been 2 posts so I'm glad it finally showed up. It's hard to carry on a conversation when posts take half a day or more to show up. Glad all the Seahawks fans are having fun celebrating. I feel happy for you! Take care, Margie

Hey folks, I don't know if it's just me but there are some posts missing on this thread. For hours, it's been indicating there are 2 posts but I'm only seeing 1. Now it's saying 3 but I see only one. We'll see if my post disappears into the abyss! After getting about 1/4 inch of ice yesterday, we have a nice sunny day today. It's a little cool but it sure beats ice! Take care, all! Margie

24 and cloudy this morning. If anybody sees my post from last night at 9:30, send it home, I miss it. I made up a big pot of Mom's Arkansas stew yesterday that hit the spot. Just brown your beef chunks, add liquid and toss in every thing else you can find. I found onions, spuds, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, belle peppers, a can of V-8, and some odds and ends. Didn't have a rutabaga, darn it. Be safe. Sam

9:30pm and down to 26, clear night, and low humidity. How did you like the Seahawk super bowl parade today? We had 700,000 people screaming and hollering and the party is still going on. One source said there was a million people but since he was a politician no one paid attention. We do like our 'Hawks!! One couple drove all the way from Cheyenne, Wyoming to celebrate. Later, be safe.........Sam

Audrey from Indiana

Janice, you have been one busy gal. When I saw you today on Fox, I said to myself, wow, she has been "working overtime", and doing such a nice job. If only we could eliminate a few of those storms, and look to Spring! Happy Birthday to little Theodore. Your boys are going up, Janice. Enjoy them each and every day. Greetings to all bloggers. Have a safe and warm evening. Audrey
