  • Spring Fever (for a few days at least!)

    Hello everyone!

For the first time in a long time, there’s a little good news to celebrate on the “weather front”.   Much of the country will enjoy a warm up  especially for parts of the Midwest where they have been trapped in a deep freeze for weeks!  Whoo hoo!

For today, we’ve got a weak  cold front spreading rain and or snow showers over the Great Lakes and Ohio valley.   While another batch of rain and mountain snow moves into the Northwest and northern California through tonight.

Looking ahead, unfortunately, winter isn’t over yet as we are tracking the potential for another snowstorm midweek for the Midwest through the Northeast.

    Stay tuned.

And don’t forget to set those clocks ahead!

At least that’s a sign that spring is around the corner (even if we lose an extra hour of sleep, we gain more wonderful daylight!)

    Have a great weekend everyone!

My kids from Lynwood came down today to visit. They said area up around Elma (20 miles east) was mostly under water with only the raised highway sticking out. The Oaksridge golf course was flooded which happens when the Chehalis River is 8 to 10 feet out of its banks. Once the river gets down to us there is such a large flood plain that not too much gets flooded. The river behind my house looks about normal. All is well here.....Sam

Hope all are having a great weekend. Cool and drizzle here, but not freezing. Happy Birthday, Sam. May #74 be the best one yet! I just set all the clocks in the house ahead, but I am sure I probably forgot one somewhere. Take care all, JB

Sonoma Dan

Hi Margie, Sam and all the regulars! Sorry I've not been on the blog for a while, but I've been dealing with some health issues and learned today that most of them are resolved. Have some surgery coming up, but will provide that information later. A beautiful 72 degrees today in Sonoma County with desperately needed rain forecast for tomorrow and Monday-thanks, JD! Happy Birthday, Sam! Hope that you enjoyed your special day! Hope that you're all doing well and enjoying the weekend! Da

Hi. Janice says we will get some rain and snow in the Pacific Northwest. Janice is correct but all our normal winter time mountain passes are open except for White which has a rock and snow slide across all 4 lanes. Should be passable tonight. Our Japanese flowering plums and some cherry blossoms opened up in the last day or so. There is big razor clam festival at the beaches today. Have a good one, stay safe. Sam
