  • Mother Nature must not like Mondays!

    Hi All!

Hope you had a great weekend.  We’ve got another mixed bag of weather this Monday..including record breaking cold and SNOW in some spots!  Eek.  I put away all of our winter coats/clothes last week, so perhaps I jinxed it?  The good news is the snow won’t last long.  The bad news is…it’s the middle of April and we’re expecting snow.  To quote one of my favorite cartoon characters:   “Good grief!”

So here’s the deal:  A powerful cold front is moving across the eastern half of the U.S:

And said cold front is triggering all sorts of weather  from severe storms (including the threat for tornadoes) to snow and temperatures behind the front reminiscent of winter.

The severe storm threat is spread across parts of the lower Mississippi Valley and the Central Gulf Coast states.

Heavy rain will cause concerns for flash flooding with upwards of 3 inches of rain occurring over the Tennessee Valley.

Snow will fall behind this cold front from Kansas through Michigan.  1-3 inches is likely with some higher isolated totals possible.

It will also snow as far south as the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles as the temperatures plunge drastically as the front moves east.

Freeze watches are up for areas as far south as Texas!

This system will move east tonight bringing cold air and snow to the Northeast and the threat for severe storms across the eastern Carolinas tomorrow.

That’s all for now.    Be safe and or bundle up!   I’ll have a look at your Easter forecast tomorrow…so be sure to check in.

"Good Grief!" I often say that to myself, Janice, just like our buddy Charlie Brown!

The lunar eclipse was supposed to start now but I checked outside and there is a thin wisp of clouds obscuring the view. Bummer! Janice, don't fret a few snowflakes. Think of them as transitional drops of moisture which will nurture the beautiful flowers of summer. They also inspire idiots such as I to wax elequant upon a warm spring evening. Take care, stay happy....Sam
