Hey Dan and Sam, glad to see someone is around here! Dan, I wish I could share some rain with you. We had another thunderstorm yesterday but thankfully, not too much rain with it and it's raining this morning. It's been a lot wetter than normal. Sam, glad your reunion went well. There is always too much food at those things! I got together with my brother and his family, along with a bunch of cousins, for the 4th of July. There was plenty of food at that party, too! Take care, all. Margie

John, one of my BIL worked for the weather bureau. He was with Operation Deep Freeze One at McMurdo Sound in the Antarctic. After that stint he got transferred to Kotzebue, Alaska for 8 years then to Anchorage and then Yakutat. He claimed there were natural swings in temps North and South arctic zones. 40 year cycles I think. Margie I'm now called incipient lobster. I got sunburned at the campout. Our reunion was great, good weather and too much food. Dan, see my reply. Be safe, Sam

Sonoma Dan

I'm not on vacation, I just didn't want to bore everyone to death with my boring weekend! Another gorgeous day in Sonoma. Temp in the low 80s with low humidity (and of course, no rain!). I worked on my hanging baskets, herb pots, rose bushes and planters this morning. Going out for sushi with my sister and brother-in-law tonight. Sam, hope that you're enjoying your family reunion! All the best - Dan

Looks like all the regular bloggers are on vacation. It's a ghost town around here. I hope all are doing well. Margie

Hi Janice - Have you read Dr Archibald's book "Twilight of Abundance" and considered the impact on weather forecasting that the changing (decreasing) intensity of our sun is now and will continue to have on our weather? According to Dr Archibald's book We are at the beginning of a dramatic global cooling that will go on for several decades. Witness last year's "Arctic Vortex" conditions. John
