  • Hurricane Julio moves north of Hawaii

Happy Saturday everyone!  My family was back at the beach yesterday, and it’s going to be a wonderful weekend in you live in the Northeast.  Pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine.  Get out and enjoy it.

In other weather news,  Tropical Storm Iselle moved into Hawaii last week.  Thankfully, Hurricane Julio is now forecast to remain well north of the Island Chain keeping the worst of the storm offshore.

Across the U.S., Showers and thunderstorms will pop up over the Plains with a risk for large hail and damaging winds for Nebraska and Kansas.

The south will remain unsettled while much of the west should be dry.  The Northwest is still very warm and dry with a high fire threat through the weekend.  We have so many active fires burning over this region.

I hope you’re all doing great.   Have a wonderful weekend.

Hey everyone! It's great to see some action back on this blog! JB, I came up with a new name for one of my kittens over the weekend. My friend named them Digory (after a C.S. Lewis character) and Freckles. I've changed Digory's name to Houdini He has managed on 2 occasions to sneak out between my legs when I go in and out the door that I keep closed to separate them from part of my house. I haven't come up with a different name for Freckles yet. He's quieter than Houdini. We'll see...Margie

JB in Texas

Hope all had a great weekend and are having a manageable Monday. The weather here is hot. Triple digits and fairly miserable, but it is August in Texas and is really the norm. Margie, I also am curious as to what you are naming the kittens. Looking forward to your tales of adventure(and misadventures)with them. Take care all, JB

Hi Everybody! Hope that you're all enjoying your weekend. The weather's been gorgeous here and my outdoor plants and hanging baskets are flourishing. My dark red dinner plate hibiscus is in full bloom and every time that I'm on my front deck complete strangers stop to ask if it's real! Margie, so glad that you're enjoying your new kittens. Have you named them? "The boys" will bring you much joy, occasional angst and they are very fortunate to have you as their Katzen Mutter! Take good care, all!

Hello all. Another beautiful balmy day in Paradise. A lot of deer have been moving around during these big moonlit nights and are being hit on the roadways. All I've seen have been does which is too bad since they have young fawns which may or may not survive. Everybody have a good week. Be safe....Sam

Hi Everyone. Things have been slow on this blog lately. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We've been having some nice weather lately. It hasn't been too hot or too humid lately so that's been great. I got my cute little kitties on Friday. They are quite the pair! It's so fun watching them play with each other. They'll definitely keep me on my toes! Take care, everyone!
