  • Blizzard for the Northeast begins overnight

Hi everyone.  Here’s the latest on our big winter storm that will start overnight into tomorrow morning:

Winter Storm Warnings are posted from the Midwest to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic as a system from the Midwest combines with a low off the Southeast Coast later today to form a powerful late season Nor-easter.

The heaviest snow and wind begins overnight across the Mid-Atlantic and then tomorrow morning-midday for the Northeast, as a broad area is expecting 12-24″ of snow, especially where no rain mixes along the coast.

Along the immediate Northeast and New England coast is also where whiteout conditions are possible on Tuesday.  40-60 mph wind gusts will be widespread and Blizzard Warnings are in effect.

Coastal flooding will also be a concern with prolonged northeasterly winds.

We will continue to update you from the Fox News extreme weather center!

Hey AJ & all the regular bloggers who may be lurking. The snow forecast for this storm remained pretty steady since Friday with 5-8 inches overnight & another 1-3 today. However, for some reason last night, Weather Underground changed it to 3-5, then 1-3 for overnight and less than an inch today. So what did we wind up with? I'd say we have a good foot of snow out there! Some surfaces have more than others because they were warmer to start with. Glad I can stay home today! Take care, all! Margie
