  • Severe weather, extreme heat, and watching the tropics...

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday.  We have a big show on Fox and Friends this morning.  Charlie Daniels is performing on the plaza, and I’m going to try and keep the rain away!

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, showers and thunderstorms will be in the forecast for the eastern half  of the country courtesy of a frontal boundary and plenty of moisture in place.

There is the chance for strong to severe storms today for the central plains with hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

Hot dry weather continues over California and the southwest with record highs possible.

This will be dangerous for millions of people  with excessive heat warnings posted.  Phoenix is forecast to hit 120 next week!

Meanwhile, we’re also keeping an eye on the tropics where an area of disturbed weather could develop in the Gulf of Mexico…

Have a great weekend everyone.  Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there.
