    Hi all!

Weather is remarkably quiet today after a crazy rain/snowstorm hit the northeast and record breaking temps for the West…

Let me know what you’re up to!

Hi everyone!  Did I spell “Open Blog” right?  LOL!

I so appreciate my regular bloggers sticking up for me and my awful grammar/spelling!   Although, I must admit I need to pay a little more attention to my spell checker sometimes.

In weather news, things are pretty quiet (THANKFULLY!) across the country.  We have a few systems crossing the U.S that will bring some rain and or thunderstorms, but no major severe weather is expected through Friday.

And in personal news, my little Theodore took his first “official” steps yesterday!    So incredible.  I’d say outside of giving birth, this is one of the most memorable moments for a parent.

Anyhow, thanks to all of you for making this a friendly forum.  I feel so fortunate to have such a kind, considerate group of blog friends.

And if you’re up early tomorrow (or can’t sleep!) catch me on Fox and Friends First!  :)

I’ll check in then…(after I spell check!!) LOL!

  • HAPPY EASTER! OPEN BLOG

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Hi everyone

Wanted to post an open blog for you guys.  I’m off tomorrow and Monday.

I found this amazing picture and story which I thought was appropriate as we head into the Easter weekend:

Picture taken on March 28, 2012 shows a tree decorated with around 10,000 Easter eggs in Saalfeld, Germany. (AFP Photo / Martin Schutt Germany Out)

A German couple has gone to some lengths to celebrate the well-loved Christian holiday, decorating a tree in their garden with 10,000 painted Easter eggs.

Volker Kraft has been collecting and painting Easter eggs for over 40 years. Starting with plastic eggs, he later switched to real ones. The 76-year-old has long made decorating a tree in the couple’s back yard a family tradition, the Associated Press reports.

Every other Easter, the pensioner has added new eggs to his collection. His wife emptied the shells of their contents, while the rest of the family decorated the eggs with pastoral scenes and portraits of saints.

Now that he’s reached the 10,000 mark, Kraft says the collection must not get any bigger – or he’ll literally be treading on eggshells.

“There will be no more because I do not have storage capacity,” the he’s quoted by Associated Press as saying. “I would have to sleep with the eggs otherwise.”

The family does not however intend to stop painting Easter eggs. Old eggs will be replaced by new, with some offered for sale.

Take care everyone!  Talk to you Tuesday!

    Hi everyone

Haven’t had one of these in a while, right?  Tell me what’s happening!  :)   I have a pretty light weather day due to SUPER TUESDAY coverage.  All states that are voting are storm free with exception to Idaho where some areas could get snow, so get out and rock that vote y’all!

  • Beautiful spring pics from Gwen and Margie!

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Hi everyone!

Well, it’s been pretty quiet in the weather department this week, which I’m thankful for.  A storm across the west could bring us the threat for severe weather later this week across parts of the central U.S, so we’ll have to keep an eye on the progress of the system.   The volcano in Iceland is still a lead story in the news, and it appears that UK travel should slowly start to resume this week as the upper level winds start to co-operate.  It’s still impossible to say when the volcano will calm down, but hopefully those hundreds of thousands of travellers will begin to slowly but surely get back home in the next few days.   I can’t imagine how hard its been for these poor folks who are at the mercy of mother nature!

I am struggling to keep my eyes open this morning since little Matthew was up a lot last night.  My little man is getting his molars in, and is clearly uncomfortable and grumpy.  I feel so bad for him.  I was just glad to give him extra hugs in the middle of the night…

Meanwhile, I just checked my inbox, and low and behold Gwen and Margie have sent in some lovely spring pics from their ‘hoods!

Enjoy!  I’m off to get a fancy coffee!

Here are the pictures from Margie:

I will post Gwen’s pics in the next post!
