  • Winter moves into the West, a wet warm NYC Marathon and #FallBack

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Good morning everyone.  Happy Friday!

We’ve got a big winter storm moving into the West

Winter storm warnings stretch from the Northern Rockies to Northern California as snow will fall heavy at times into the weekend.

Snow and a rain-snow mix will also spread into the Northern Plains Saturday.

Temperatures 10-20 degrees above average continue Friday from Texas through the Southeast and East Coast.

This warmer-than-average trend for these most of these regions will hold into early next week.

Weather will be warm but wet for this years New York city Marathon in NYC:

And don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour for daylight saving time.

Have a wonderful weekend.  See you on Fox and Friends!

  • Wintery weather arrives for many!

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

Good morning everyone.   Happy Hump Day!  It’s looking a lot more like winter across parts of the country.

Snow across the Northern Rockies and interior Northwest will increase in coverage and intensity today and Thursday.

Winter Storm Watches and Warnings are in effect.

Winter weather advisories are also up for parts of the Upper Midwest as generally light snow accumulations are expected.

And looking ahead, Winter Storm Watches are in effect over the highest elevations in Northern California as the season’s first significant winter storm is expected Friday into the weekend.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Travel delays across the Northeast thanks to a strong coastal storm

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

Good morning everyone.  Hope you had a great weekend.   If you live across the Northeast you’re well aware of a strong system bringing heavy rain to the region down into the Mid-Atlantic.

Heavy rainfall, flash flooding, wind gusts up to 60 mph and coastal flooding will all be possible through the day.

Colder air behind this storm will bring heavy snow to the central Appalachians.

Strong winds and snow are also expected across the  northern Plains and Upper Great Lakes.

In the good news department, we’ll have much quieter weather tomorrow for Halloween for much of the country!

See you on Fox and Friends!

  • October Snow for the Upper Midwest and a coastal storm for the Northeast

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

Happy Friday everyone.  We’re watching the snow fall over the Upper Midwest today:

Highest storm totals will bring 3-6 inches across northern Minnesota:

Much colder air is moving into the Plains and Midwest behind this system.

A coastal low is likely to impact the Northeast coast on Sunday into Monday bringing heavy rain, wind, and coastal flooding to the region.

Tropical moisture will add to the rainfall totals from this system.

And speaking of tropics, a disturbance in the western Caribbean still could become more organized over the weekend, but regardless of if it becomes a depression or a storm it will spread tropical downpours/flooding from Central America to South Florida.

Here’s the rest of your Friday forecast:

Have a great weekend!  See you on Fox and Friends.

  • Here comes some snow!

    Janice Dean | Meteorologist

    Good morning everyone!

We’ve got a system moving into the Northern Rockies, Northern Plains, and Midwest that will bring colder temperatures and a mix of rain and snow.

This colder air will spread across the rest of the Plains and Midwest.

We’ve got many states in a freeze watch/warning:

Meanwhile, the tropics aren’t done yet.  A disturbance in the western Caribbean may develop late this week, but appears to be mainly a heavy rain/flooding threat for Central America.

Here’s a look at your forecast today for the rest of the U.S:

Have a great Thursday everyone.  See you on Fox and Friends!
